First Basketball Tournament: Game 6

Our final game for the elimination round for the tournament.  The game was held at Cinco covered court in Marikina last night October 4, 2011.

The opponent already lead the game by 6 points in the first 5 minutes of the game.  The opponent was aggressive by executing a fast break whenever they got the ball.  Unaware of this tactic we weren’t able to counter it.  Also, the first five were not properly warmed up and lacking of a point guard made the opponent get points from the said attack.  The gap increase by 12 points until third quarter.  By fourth quarter, we managed to close the gap until one point in the last minute of the game.  Unfortunately, we weren’t able to score the last shot.

Before the game, we weren’t able to do a practice match so we were that prepared.  I really believed that a practice before will really make a difference even if the practice will be held a day before the game.  We do not have many turnovers but we weren’t score so much.

The final score was 51-50 in favor to the opponent.  Our standing now is W – 3 L – 3 and I’m not sure if we were able to make it to semi-finals.

First Basketball Tournament: Game 5

Last night September 21, held the fifth game of our elimination round.  We were in the first game. The venue is the same at Cinco covered court in Marikina.

I’m supposedly part of the first set but unfortunately I came late so I became a member of the second set.  We lead the score board in the first five minutes of the game but the opponent close the gap as the first quarter reach its end.  On the second quarter, the opponent lead the score until third quarter.  During the fourth quarter, our team managed to close the gap by utilizing the full court defense.  The opponent does not have any counter attack from our defense and was getting under pressure.  Because of this, our team took the chance to take back the lead and it happened.

During the entire game. both teams did not score aplenty.  It was because of the defense the both team gave and the many turnovers both team committed.

The final score was 32 – 38 in favor of our team.  Our team standing now is     W – 3 L – 2.

Our final game for elimination will held next Wednesday at the same court.

Update: The game is reschedule next week due to  typhoon “Pedring”.

When I joined the basketball tournament in our department, I don’t have an appropriate shoes to use so I checked my wallet and fortunately it still have money :D.  So I went to a mall to buy a decent basketball shoes that I can afford

MultiSport-Iberet Running Class

Once again, I went to another free class of Mulitsport-Iberet last September 10, 2011 and the topic was about running.  The venue was held at Bonifacio High Street Activity Center in Taguig city and was an open area.  The speakers were coaches Jojo Macalintal and PJ Rivera and it seemed they came from a sport event.

First Basketball Tournament: Game 4

Before our game 4 happened last night, we trained last Monday and I think that helped us to be aggressive in the entire game.  The game was held at the same venue which is in Cinco covered court in Cinco Village in Marikina.

Happy Birthday Virgo!!

Today is the first day of September. The first month of –ber months.  Also, the month of Virgo.  To all people who were born on August 23 – September 22, a very happy birthday to you! Also, the day I was born is today.  So happy birthday to me! Yay!

First Basketball Tournament: Game 3

Last night, game 3 of our team was held at a covered court in Cinco Village in Marikina.  We were in the first game and our opponent was a team that still has no lost from their previous games.  A very tough opponent indeed.
